Route 6 Receives Scenic Byway Designation
A four-county section of U.S. Route 6 has received an official Scenic Byway designation from PennDOT, attesting to the historic and natural beauty of the Pa. Corridor. A celebration including a ribbon-cutting ceremony, light refreshments, and guest speakers will be held in Coudersport. Slated for Oct. 30 in the Courthouse Square, the event will commemorate years of work spearheaded by the Route 6 Alliance. All are invited to attend the ceremony, which will run from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The Scenic Byway designation applies to the main roadway, its extensions, and offsets of Route 6 in Warren, McKean, Potter, and Tioga counties

Unclaimed Property Being Returned to Residents
Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity and Rep. Tina Pickett (R-110) announced that more than $40,000 in unclaimed property is being returned to residents and organizations in Wyoming County following Rep. Pickett’s Senior Expo held on Sept. 26 at the Triton Hose Company. Unclaimed property can include dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, forgotten safe deposit boxes, and much more. State law requires businesses to report unclaimed property to Treasury after three years of dormancy. Elmira Man Sentenced for Retail Theft
24 year old ZACHARY M. BELLINGER, Elmira, NY, was sentenced to the Bradford County Correctional Facility to a maximum of 12 months for Retail Theft, a Felony of the Third Degree. Bellinger was arrested f by Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department back in July of 2024 following the Officer’s investigation into a theft at Walmart.
