Overeaters Anonymous

Sayre Turkey Trot 5K

The Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Auxiliary is pleased to announce that Early Bird Registration is now open for the 10th annual Sayre Turkey Trot 5K, taking place on Thursday, November 24, Thanksgiving. Jazz Ambassadors

Shingles Clinic

The Pennsylvania Department of Health is hosting a shingles vaccine clinic at the Mansfield Laurel Health Center, 416 S. Main St., Mansfield, on Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. for those individuals in need of a shingles vaccination The vaccinations will be given at low or no cost to residents whose insurance doesn’t cover the shot or individuals with no insurance. The maximum cost is $5, payable by check or money order. Shingles is caused by the same virus as the chicken pox, and can resurface at any time as a painful, blistering rash. Even if you feel healthy, your risk for shingles increases as you get older. Risk factors include age, weakened immune system and history of chicken pox. Game-A-Thon

Rainbow Riders annual Game-A-Thon will be held on Sunday September 25th at the Horse Arena at Alparon park in Troy Registration opens at 7:30; Games begin at 9:00, $25 event fee. BUT remember if you get out there and get donations/sponsors/raise money,(over $25) there is NO event fee. AND prizes are awarded for most money raised!!!   The days events include barrels, poles and keyhole and time permitting another game. A Chinese Raffle will be held , so bring your extra cash to get a chance at some great items. There will be a dish to pass lunch with meat and drink provided. CONCEAL CARRY SEMINAR

Towanda- Bradford County Commissioners Doug McLinko, Daryl Miller, Ed Bustin will host a conceal carry seminar at the Bradford County Courthouse on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, in Courtroom #1. Annual Craft Fair

Tha Annual Craft Fair at the Troy Fire Department will be held on Saturday, October 15th from 10am thru 3pm. There is no admission charge plenty of food and vendors will be set up. The public is invited.

Fall Auction

The Greater Valley Chamber Of Commerce Annual Fall Auction will be Thursday, October 20th at “The Loom” in Waverly. A Limited number of tickets are available at $10 per person by calling the Chamber at 607-249-6192. The door opens at 5:30 with the auction starting at 7pm. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Valley Addiction and Drug Eduction Program.

Turn Back The Clock Sock Hop

Tickets are now available for the “Turn Back The Clock Sock Hop” to be held on Saturday November 5th at the Church Of Christ on Minnequa, Avenue in Canton. The Dance preceded by a “Family Style” dinner at 6pm with dancing from 7-9pm. The “Sock Hop” band includes many local musicians. Room Tax Grant Program

The Bradford County Tourism Promotion Agency has announced it is accepting applications for the Room Tax Grant program for the 2016-2017 cycle.   Applications must be postmarked on or before the deadline of Friday October 14th.  Grants are available for Bradford County organizations with a 501c3 or 501c6 status.  Due to the recent signing of House Bill 794, also known as Act 18 of 2016, organizations must also show proof of having a 25% cash or in-kind match of the total amount requested, to be eligible for a Room Tax Grant.  For more information, please contact the Tourism Agency at 570.265.8687.  Applications can be found on the Tourism Promotion Agency’s website at www.visitbradfordcounty.com and the Bradford County Government’s website at www.bradfordcountypa.org
